Schofield got the bloody list by "trawling the internet" for pity's sake. There may be some accurate names on it, but Cameron is absolutely right that this is a police matter...

Yeah - it needs to be properly investigated, not trial by chat-show.

I understand that Mr Schofield has been reported to Ofcom. (Admittedly, this is via HuffPo, so I wouldn't bet money on it.)

I saw that bit and I thought "I could do that". So I did. And the websites producing the names (at least I presume they are the same names that Mr Schofield found) are proper crazy conspiracy theory nuts, barely a step above the level of "The Queen Mother was an Alien Lizard".

Which isn't to say that the allegations are definitely untrue. Some conspiracy theories turn out to be correct after all.

I wasn't aware of this til you linked to it.

I am not sure why that would be Cameron's job to deal with that rather than the police?

I, too, had completely missed the story until your post; but Google News filled me in (a bit).

I'd missed this story until you posted this.

My initial reaction is "trawling the web now counts as serious journalism? Isn't that how The Times came to describe Galadriel as the villain of LotR?"

I think Galadriel was playing with a straight bat, but I have long had my suspicions about Elrond.

A fondness for young dunedain boys...

It was more his apparent attempts to doom the mission of the fellowship I was thinking of (you don't need Glorfindel, it's not as if you're going to meet any Balrogs, why not just take this bunch of complete strangers who have turned up in my house and leave in a few weeks' time, in the dead of winter?)

I'm sure taking in all those dunedain boys was entirely innocent, until his daughter fell for one and he started to wonder how to get rid of him without awkward questions....
