The Walking Dead, Season 2

I've just finished the second season of The Walking Dead (the computer game that is, not the comiic book or the TV series).

Shit, I mean there's grim, there's dark, there's grimdark, and then way, way beyond that, there's season 2 of The Walking Dead.

Incidentally, the overwhelming consensus is that season two is the weakest by far (and it drags). Season three is pretty cool, and season four -WOW! But yeah, the bleakness does get to me at times...no light at the end of the tunnel and plenty of brutal deaths - many of them for no purpose. But in a sense it is a concentrated metaphor for Real Life. We just have more creature comforts on a daily basis. And better hygiene

I was referring to the game - believe it or not I've never seen the TV series.

Computer games have "seasons" now? I guess that's a benefit of "corporate synergy"!

I can see the progression now:
comic book--->TV show-->computer game-->theme park

I mean, it worked for Harry Potter, right?

It sort of works for the Walking Dead games because they were originally released in episodes of about two hours of play each.

God yes... it makes George R R Martin look like Anne of Green Gables. That last ten minutes was heart wrenching.

Not sure how they can take it to S3 though as the ending was so "divided" if you see what I mean (trying to avoid spoilers). Mostly when you make decisions they either have a minor effect on the world or a major effect that later rejoins the main story line.

Yeah I thought that. Apparently there will be a third season later this year.

Then there's Connie Willis' Passage, then there's Connie Willis' Doomsday Book.
