Some quiz questions - Part 1, Film & TV

As you know if you've been paying attention, I have somehow become the official quizmaster for Launceston Chamber of Commerce. I thought I'd let you have a go at the questions from my last quiz a round at a time. In theory, each round gets harder as it goes on. You get two points for getting question 10 right.

I'll screen the comments and reveal who has scored the most in each round at the end of the week. Promise not to cheat!

The first round is Film & Television:

  1. Which TV drama followed the partners and staff of advertising agency Sterling Cooper?

  2. Which "crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit" but promptly escaped…"to the Los Angeles underground"?

  3. Which married couple co-wrote Fawlty Towers?

  4. In 'Friends', what was the name of Phoebe's identical twin sister?

  5. Which British actor won this year's Oscar for Best Actor for his portrayal of the young Stephen Hawking in 'The Theory of Everything'?

  6. Which actor is best known for his portrayal of café owner Rene Artois in Allo' Allo'?

  7. Which 1930s cartoon character was modelled after the singer Helen Kane, who was most famous for the song 'I wanna be loved by you'?

  8. Which soap opera, which ran from 1980 to 2003, was set in the Scottish highland village of Glendarroch?

  9. Who played Simon Templar in the TV series 'The Return of the Saint'?

  10. Who played Lou Beale in Eastenders?

I'm in... This is going to be interesting. I've found that my lack of British Pop culture knowledge puts me at a massive disadvantage when doing quizzes here. :/

Ooh! Quizzes! Don't reveal the answers too soon, please. I won't have time to attempt all the rounds until later today, but maybe can squeeze one or two in now.

1. Um... Mad Men?
2. The A Team, I'd imagine.
3. John Cleese and Connie Booth
4. Ursula
5. Eddie Redmayne

7. Betty Boop
8. Um... Take the High Road is what comes into my mind. I have no confidence in this answer, and have no idea where it came from, but I might as well try it.
9. Curses. The letter O comes into my mind, but I can't pin it down any further than that. Can't even remember if the O applies to the surname or first name.
10. Anna Wing? Another name dragged from the depths of vague memory, and uttered with little confidence.
